Grad Student Auctioning Her Virginity To Pay For School, I Am Winning, Don't Outbid Me

A female grad student at Sacremento State is selling her virginity in an auction to pay for her schooling. She may or may not have had a pair of baby high heels as an infant.

The 22-year-old who is using the pseudonym Natalie Dylan for safety reasons is going through a legal brothel in Nevada to sell her virginity. "The main purpose of this is to finance a couple things in my life," Dylan told CBS13. "I think empowerment of women is picking yourself up and doing something on your own to better yourself."

Dylan says she's already taken a polygraph test to prove her virginal status, and is also willing to undergo a medical exam.

Hof says Dylan is a bright, beautiful young woman who's going to consider a number of factors in her decision because she wants her first time to be a positive experience. "Natalie is a very smart girl. All she wants to do is get her master's degree in family and marriage counseling and be a psychologist. She's selling her virginity to accomplish that," Hof told CBS13. "She's smart enough to sell it. This is empowering her."

I think we can all agree when I say this is most certainly what female empowerment is all about. Take that, glass ceiling!

Laundry Wall by Syneo Studio

The Laundry Wall is a fully integrated wardrobe system which brings washing and clothing maintenance to a walk-in closet. Designed to optimize the working process between multiple appliances, it provides solutions for storing, cleaning, caring and refreshing of clothes. After presorting the wash load on top of the washer, the machine’s interface suggests an adequate program. Then users simply choose additional settings they would like to use. The focus of the Laundry Wall concept is on the filtering of information

Bedside Slippers, Literally

I don’t know what it is but slippers seem to fall victim to the same invisible monster that makes socks disappear. I try to keep organize and leave them in the same spot but sooner or later, they mysteriously vanish. Daniel Meyer surmised that to treat them as a mobile object more akin to carpet, you wouldn’t lose them and so he created a small bedside rug with porthole cut outs for your matching slippers. Now you’ll always know where they are before you get in and out of bed.

Star Wars Condoms anyone?

If you can't tell from the picture, these are knock-off Star Wars jimmy jackets, cleverly named Star Condoms. Apparently they were purchased somewhere in Asia and, HELLO, I'm wearing one. "A long time ago in a galaxy for, for away..." Awesome. Just a heads up though: don't buy condoms with misspellings on the box, it indicates poor quality control.

MY AVATAR

ITS CUBBYYYYYYYYY....CHELLO..
Make yours here: FACE UP

I want this: MultiTouch

MultiTouch, the company, not the technology, has developed the MultiTouch Cell, a multitouch LCD display that's modular (meaning that many LCDs can assemble to make one big LCD). Beyond expandability, the screens are quite advanced, supporting multiple users and recognizing fingers in relationship to the hand as opposed to independent points (which allows for more complex interactions). The tech is still quite pricey—the 32" display runs $7,000 with the 1080p 46" version reaching $15,000—but it takes a lot of resources to be a non-crazy version of Tom Cruise.

LEGOS.......AWeSUUMEEEEEEEEE:

Simon, a grown-ass man, went and built himself a full Boba Fett costume out of LEGO pieces. As you can see, it's pretty damn impressive. Right up there with that little kid's cardboard Halo arsenal. Hit the jump for a bunch more of Simon and his costume, along with a Vader version he made as well. Uh-oh. Another great idea i ever saw online:

Introducing the First Annual Geekologie LEGO Leia's Golden Bikini Contest! Full rules follow.

1. Contestants must construct and model a LEGO Golden Bikini
2. Digital photo required in entry
3. Must be holding a sign that reads "Geekologie" or "I Love You Geekologie Writer, I Want To Have Your Babies But Know You Don't Want Kids Right Now And I'm Totally Cool With That" or something similar so I know it's for the contest
4. No dudes
5. Hey you -- the guy that thought it would be funny to still enter anyways: stop.
6. LEGO pieces optional
7. Bikini optional
8. Naked photos only

Contest ends when I feel like it. Winners will be notified by personal stripper-gram. Your choice: fireman or police officer, I play both equally well.

I Am 8-Bit Art Exhibit: Works For Sale

There's an art exhibit running in Hollywood until September 7th entitled "I Am 8-Bit" that features a bunch of old school gaming inspired art. If you're in the area you might want to check it out at: Wonder Storefront Gallery, 6650 Hollywood Blvd., Hollywood, CA. But if you can't make it, all the pieces are available for sale online. The originals are fetching over a grand, but there are a couple prints (including a wicked Link/Gannon) for $100. Hit the jump to see some of my favorites, along with a link to both the show gallery and print sale page. Let's face it, there just isn't anything cooler than 8-bit gaming art. Well, besides 4-bit gaming art. ZOMG I'm so oldschool!

Check out the online gallery: 8-bit gaming art

GROUND ZERO

GROUND ZERO: Little People in the City is the first solo show from Slinkachu featuring all new works at Cosh Gallery, Soho, this August. Slinkachu has taken street art to a new scale, painstakingly hand-painting tiny characters that live in a world that’s too small for us to always notice beneath our feet.
His street installations are constructed in all sorts of public spaces, the portrayal of little lives that mirror our own. Working in miniature opens up the city landscapes in unexpected ways and this is explored in Ground Zero where he literally brings you down to a new level.
Ground Zero is both street art installations and photography. The two go hand in hand with thesubsequent photograph uncovering his hidden world. The show depicts the little fears and anxieties of city life and the general feeling of being alone or insignificant in a large city. While the scenes reflect the loneliness and melancholy of urban life there is always an underlying sense of humour and feeling of empathy.

Nose Gel Dispenser Is Fun for the Whole Family Or Maybe Just Me

I think I may get this 9-inch-high Nose Shower Gel to put it in my kitchen and dispense lime Jello Mello. Too bad it only exudes gel out of the right nostril, though, because it would make an excellent ketchup and mustard dispenser for just $17.95

Chubby Brothers Hidden Chairs Dining Table

Working in any kind of home or professional environment can be trying for a creative-oriented person, especially when essentials (such as a dining table, for instance) are needed for daily living. While even the wildest eccentric likes to sit down for a nice meal, afterward there’s still a bunch of goofy furniture sitting in the kitchen. What Brian Lee has made here is a definite score for those who wish to get the most out of their dining arena.

No, I don’t believe everyone NEEDS a dining table, but for those who DO, what choice do you have? The Chubby Brothers dining table turns itself into a beautiful sculptural piece when not in use. And when it IS in use, it is beyond comfortable (I’ve used it!)

As Brian Lee puts it: “A dining table with the idea of allowing the audience to gain a different perspective as an unrecognizable object when put together.” And once the chairs are pulled out, comfort for your butt! The Chubby Brothers dining table features Leaf spring seats on each of the four chairs. And once the chairs are pulled out, the table itself breaks down into six parts so that it might fit easily through doors. For the diner on the go!
